Privacy

One policy, for all nine products. Short, because there is not much to say.

Your birth details are used once and then deleted. Name, date, time and place go into the engine, the engine returns your booklet, and the details are gone. Not stored, not sold, not shared, not used to train anything. The booklet itself is never kept either way.

There are exactly two exceptions, and both are yours to ask for. Tick email the booklet to me and we send it to the address you give — which means a copy lives on your mail provider's servers and on ours, and cannot be recalled. Tick keep a copy and the four details you typed are stored encrypted for 24 months, so the order can be looked up if something goes wrong. Both boxes start empty. Neither happens if you leave them alone, and a stored copy is deleted the day you ask. The Vastu assessment offers only the first of the two, because there the assessment is your floor plan, and we would rather not hold that at all.

A timed session is the one product that holds your chart while it runs. That is what you are buying: the chart stays computed and open for the window you paid for, so you can close the page, think, and come back to it. So for that window we hold the computed chart — planets, houses, dashas — under a random link only you have. A computed chart carries your birth date and time inside it, so treat the session link as yours alone. When the window ends the record is deleted, not archived, and an unopened session is deleted after 30 days. You can end a session early and the chart goes at once.

Payment is handled by Stripe, and Stripe is never told your chart. Card and wallet details — Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, or a card typed in — go straight to Stripe on Stripe's own page; we never see or hold a card number. Stripe collects an email address for the receipt, so that address does reach them. What does not reach them is your name, your birth date, your birth time or your birth place: all Stripe is given is the amount and a one-way code that lets our engine recognise the order the payment belongs to. Stripe holds the payment record under its own privacy policy, as every card processor does.

We count visits. We cannot count visitors, and that is deliberate. Since 22 August this site records three things when a page opens: which page it was, which site linked you here if any, and the campaign tag on the link you followed. That record goes to our own server and stops there — no Google, no analytics company, nobody. There is no cookie, no stored identifier and no advertising anywhere on this site, and your IP address is never written down: it is used for a moment to stop one machine flooding the counter, and then it is gone. So we can learn that forty people read a page and two began a form. We cannot learn that one person did both, and we have no way to connect any of it to an order or to you. If your browser sends Do Not Track, nothing is sent at all — you are not counted and then discarded, you are simply never counted.

Festival reminders keep an email and a city, nothing else. Choose remind me the day before on a Diwali page and we keep your address (encrypted) and the city's name, send one short email the day before each festival, and put a one-click leave link in every mail; leaving deletes the record rather than archiving it.

The panchang community keeps your address. It keeps your birth details only if you ask it to. Joining costs an email and a city, and that is the whole of it — the daily panchang has never needed anything else. Underneath the join box is one unticked box: also send me my varshaphala free every birthday. Tick it and you are asked for four things — the name to print, and the date, time and place of your birth — because a varshaphala is cast for the exact minute the Sun returns to where it stood when you were born, and the paper cannot be made from less. All four or none: a half-filled block is refused rather than half-kept, so we never hold a birth date we cannot actually use.

Those four live encrypted, in the same record as your address, and they are there for one reason: so the paper arrives without you having to remember. A solar return is not the birthday — it drifts by up to a day and a half — which is exactly why it is a poor thing to leave to a person. What we will never do with them is the part worth writing down: they are never sold, never shared, never sent to any other company, and never used to sell you anything. No warning, no urgency, no "act before" — if your own chart reaches something worth telling you about, you get it told plainly, with the working shown, and with nothing attached. And leaving deletes them: the same one click that stops the panchang takes the birth record with it, because it lives in the same row. There is no archive and no copy left behind.

One product sends one thing off this machine: Ask the Chart sends your question. The answers are computed here, from your chart, and then a wording step turns the engine's findings into readable prose — and into Hindi or Punjabi if you asked for those. That step runs on Anthropic's Claude API, so what travels is the question you typed and a fact sheet of what your chart said: houses, degrees, dasha dates, the classical rule relied on. Your name, birth date, birth time and city are not in it — the code that assembles the fact sheet is never handed them, which is a fact about the program, not a policy someone has to remember. Nothing that comes back is taken on trust either: every number in the wording is checked against the fact sheet, and one figure that is not supported discards the whole wording and prints the engine's own English. The other eight products send nothing anywhere.

There is no marketing list. An address used to deliver a booklet is used for that and dropped. If we ever start a list it will be opt-in only, and every message on it will carry an unsubscribe link, as Canadian law (CASL) requires.

Who you are buying from

Darshan is a service of ITERNITY RESEARCH CORP., a federal corporation under the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA), number 17821271, operating from Brampton, Ontario, Canada. That is the name that will appear on your card statement and on any receipt, so it should not be a surprise when it does.

Everything on this site — the engine, the booklets, the mailbox — is that one company. Write to — and it reaches it.
